Antique Louis XIII Style Sideboard

$485.00

Okay look. I know people are going to argue about what the proper name for this piece is. It is not a buffet de corps because the top and bottom are the same size. I am calling it a sideboard vs a buffet because that is what Christie’s had a similar piece labeled as, despite the fact I think it is more buffet then sideboard and alot of other similar pieces I found online are labeled as a buffet. What I do know is this a very old piece. I am not entirely convinced it is not a true 17th century Louis XIII, but I am leaning to it being from the late 19th century based on nothing but years of experience of old things. There are 2 drawers (one on the top and one in the middle), as well as 2 storage spaces behind doors. Its solid wood and very sturdy. There are some cosmetic issues, such as a split in the top left corner (pictured in photo 3) and chipping on the right foot, but if you were 140+ years old, I can guarantee you would have some cosmetic issues too. Basically, It is a great piece and has hundreds of years left to go. It is made of pine with a mahogany like paint finish.

Cabinet is 38” wide x 18” deep x 65.5” tall
