34.5" Late 1800s Victorian Stained Exterior Door with Stained Glass Panes
This door has all the wow factor- as incredible as it is in photos, it is even more amazing in person. That being said it came to us in rough shape and has taken quite a bit of love and time to get it to where it is now. Over its 130+ years on this earth, someone had replaced all the glass and instead of replacing the stops, they used silicone. Furthermore, the hardware made absolutely no sense. The original door bell was taken out, sometime in the 1980s the original mortise lock was removed and replaced with a hideous knob and sometime in the the 2000s, someone else added a lock that in a completely different finish. Basically, this door had been “fixed” multiple times over the decades with lots of band aids. It is still not perfect, but its far more true to its original self then it has been in a long time. All of the silicone was been removed and all the glass is held in with wooden stops. It now features 4 panels of blue glass, 8 panels of antique pressed glass in a diamond pattern, 2 opalescent pieces, 2 white pieces, 4 pieces with blue, black and white swirl and a gorgeous piece of wavy glass in the center. The few pieces of original hardware that remained have been restored and the new hardware is far more appropriate. The lock is functional and comes with two keys and the pancake lock comes with its receiver. This door is ready to be installed in its new home and is ready for its next 130 years.
Door is 34.5” wide x 81.75” x 1.75” thick
