Wood Cabinet with Granite Top
VERY solid piece. 4 drawers with open shelves in the bottom. I (Hannah) have a deep knowledge of this piece due to the fact my father had it custom built in the mid 2000s and when he died in 2013, it came to my house. I am going to cover the postives of it first- it has a TON of storage. The four drawers are the perfect size-deep enough to shove a ton of stuff but not so deep its hard to find things. The bottom section can hold over 250dvds/bluerays (including the special edition full series of Gilmore Girls, Parks and Recreation and Six Feet Under) , books 1-60 of The Boxcar Children +50ish other kids books, a few Royal Dalton figurines, your husbands fancy pants hardcover Lord of the Rings trilogy, his (very large) books about Ancient Rome and his prized signed football in a plexiglass box. The top holds a 60” television, a sound bar, a trinket catch all wooden leaf platter, a roku, a bluray player and three glitter porcupines without any issue. It is a GREAT depth- much more narrow than most cabinets used for tv stands. The positives of this piece far out weigh the cons in my opinion but it does have some issues. The drawers can be annoying to open. I always intended to put pulls on them but I just never got around to it. There is a trim piece missing between the two doors on the right hand side. It has been missing since roughly 2010 and while it would be very easy to replace I never cared enough to do it. The granite has two black streaks. I forgot about the black streaks until yesterday when I took my tv off of it. I believe I recall my father mentioning something about accidently lighting a piece of paper on fire from a candle. The black streaks are as smooth as the rest of the granite and might just be a the way the granite always was. If you are around 5’2 and lack depth perception, you will hit your hip frequently on the corner and despite the corners being curved, it hurts. I really do love this piece and I am sad to see it go, but despite my trying, it just no longer fits my personal vibe so its time for it to find a new home where it can be loved.
This cabinet is 60” wide x 15” deep x 36.5” tall
